Ecosystem 2022

I threw a mini-festival called Ecosystem in Reddick, FL. Here is one of the mixes from the middle of my set. We’ll be doing another one this year and would love for you to join us! I have been focusing on my music lately and revamped many old pages and my Soundcloud, so give me a follow if you like.

The Unavoidable

A Naturalist and a Theist,
sitting at the edge,
of the Flower of Life.
Looking both inside and out.

The flower smells of nostalgia,
with undertones of doubt.
Literal or a metaphor?
An efficient description.

It’s real, I swear!
Moral relativism,
a spectrum of complexity.
How nervous is your nervous system?

Reality came out of an electron,
A growing confluence of eternal energy.
The first time a human could think,
he contemplated a richer environment.

An emergent solution,
for a fundamental problem.
Subjective reasoning,
“objection your honor!”

By demand of the people.
Expanding vibrations,
with no consequences,
forever.

Andres Amador: Beach Paintings

After getting back from touring the north east side of the country, I’ve met many influential people. While I was at Rothbury, I stumbled upon a couple sitting in on the ground with a large array of postcards containing the most beautiful pictures of giant landscape paintings. These pieces seem to be done by either spreading contrasting sand colors and shaping by hand, or using large beach rakes to give the sand a rough texture.

Although I didn’t get to speak to the artist, Andres Amador, as much as some of the other artists I met at Rothbury, I would like to share with you some of my favorite images that I have found of his work. Check out the website at the bottom for more information about Andres and his work.

Eyes are the windows to the soul

They say that the eyes are the window to ones soul. Can you tell anything about a person from looking only into their eyes? If you look deep enough into a person’s eyes, sometimes you can see the whole universe in an infinite strange loop of your perception.

Lots of research is being done in the field of human vision and figuring out how each person differs in their own perception of the world. Below are some beautiful eye images as well as some of the first images of retina cells in a living person.

retinas

“These color-coded images of living human retinas show the wide diversity in the number of cones sensitive to different colors. The image on the left shows the retina of a person who has few red-sensing cones, and the one on the right is of someone with far more red cones. The pictures are blurry because that’s the best the new imaging process could manage.” – Univ. of Rochester

As they took pictures of the thousands of cells responsible for detecting color in the deepest layer of the eye, scientists found that our eyes are wired differently. Yet we all — with the exception of the colorblind — identify colors similarly.

I also wanted to share with you a very popular photograph from my favorite National Geographic cover of all time. Some people have a presence that is you cannot explain. You can only feel it.
